Hello all!
This is my first post here so I’m hoping to get some helpful information. I inherited my grandfather Mauser k98 after he passed and it’s the only item I was given after he died. He had the rifle from after the war and he had it hung on the wall at his farm but he displayed it without the bolt and I was unable to find it. So I wanted to know if anyone know where to get a bolt assembly for it. I know there are some links on the site to some places that occasionally have them but no one has any. So if anyone had any other info about this I would really appreciate it, I really wanna get this up and running.

Thanks for the help

Josh

best of luck!

I had one, eventually sold it as I didn't shoot it very often. Recoil was frigging brutal.

Welcome aboard! You're lucky you have a family connection and now you have a mission.

Mauser bolts are common. If you get into the habit, gun shows are a good place to find assortments of parts. Sellers will usually lay out trays and boxes of assorted whatevers. If you feel comfortable, bring the rifle with you. Try a few out to see whether it closes loose or snug. Straight handle or turn-down are two other variables. However, only a gunsmith can prove the headspace is safe to fire.

Hmmm? If you have a rifle that means something but it has no bolt, and some guy on the internet said to go shopping, then the next thing you need is pair of Go, No Go headspace gauges. Maybe $50 delivered.
