Good evening everyone,

I am having some MAJOR issues re-installing the floor plate on my newly purchased M48A, and cannot get it back in for the life of me. Does any one have any tricks, or things I should look out for?

This is one of the Mausers from the latest batch from Marstar.

Thanks in advance,

Mac

Some of them are a pain in the ass.
You can try pushing down the detent while pushing the plate down. Do it with the bolt open. Shouldn't matter but worth a try.
I don't take them off any of my mausers anymore. Lol

Try this.
Insert the notched front piece (the end closer to the barrel tip) then push the whole thing flat.
While applying pressure as if trying to force it closed, slide the whole floor plate back towards the buttplate (while still pushing down all the time with your hand)
It should pop down into place, then just push it forward again to engage the lock.
So the whole thing is like a push down, then move your hand a quick little back and forth action (while pushing down the whole time)
That should work very easily once you get the knack of it.
Hope this helps.

hey everyone, still no luck. I have tried applying pressure to the floor plate, and jiggling it, put it does not want to engage. Could it be bent ever so slightly??

try these manuals, they may help.it is a bit tricky, you need to push on rear stud with a punch as you push floorplate into slot then push down then back...
