Mauser MAS 45A 22 rifle, anyone have history on them, mine has Israeli proof marks

Long story short, started to reduce and online and someone I know wanted it, confusion, I ended up still having it and plan on keeping it until I figure out what I have (now plan to still keep it) or I get an extremely ridiculous trade (maybe an X-95 or Tavor)

It is a Mauser MAS 45A and has Israeli proof marks on the receiver, it is a 45A target rifle with peep sight and with the wood checkering and MAS butt plate. The prices vary greatly and this one does need clean up but given the history I didn't so it shows a bit rough under the flash but I'm not selling and since the debate came up over the proof marks I'm glad I didn't clean it up but does anyone know anything about Israel getting these as training rifles?

My plan like I said is to keep it and I am hoping someone has some history on it.

I wouldn’t call it hugely valuable. It was built from parts scavenged by the French when they took the factories at Oberndorf in 1945. Assembled by MAS in France and saw service in Israel. Condition is a huge part in this one. $500-$700 tops if someone needs the Mauser logo. Shoot it and enjoy it.

I will keep it and that much I knew, according to the one page I saw the 45A with the checkering was a rarer and I have seen some over $1000 US (pristine of course) but without the Israel proof marks. Have you ever seen any documentation on its use I was wondering. There seems to be no online documentation that I have seen other than essentially a summary like you wrote but nothing about Israel. I'm curious if it is a one off or part of a lot or ... essential if there is a way to find the history.

There always seems to be that someone that can tell you who, what and where based on almost nothing noticeable by the usual person so I thought I would see if I got lucky. Thanks.
