After seeing my buddies Mauser 66, I fell in love with it. However it is one rifle he'd never sell, so I've been searching for one that I could afford. Well the search is over, and I've now bought my first 66. I never really looked that close at my buds rifle but I've seen some 66's that come with multiple barrels. So I was wondering if this was a feature on all model 66 rifles or just on a certain breed of 66? If this is the case what designation is used to define the different rifles? I haven't recieved my rifle yet so I can't tell you any of the markings on it. But if all 66 rifles can have the barrels changed where can you find them or would it be easy for somebody to make one to fit the rifle? Just a few questions, any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Do a search in this forum, there was a thread on the 66's a while back,

I did and never came up with anything. I remember reading at least some of it and don't think any of the answers I'm looking for were in it. Thanks for the heads up anyway

Barrels are sometimes available on gunsamerica.com and gunbroker.com

They are nice rifles, I used one in an 8x68S on a boar hunt in Yugoslavia years ago.
