Mauser scout question

Hey guys,

I figured this would be the best place to ask this question at, so here it goes. I'm looking at either building/buying a scout rifle, but with these specs:

-Mauser 98 military action. (I want to be able to load with stripper clips)
-308/30-06 calibre
-short barrel.

Now I know I can get a Israeli Mauser in 308, and a Norwegian Mauser in 30-06, but the trouble is that I want it to be a scout rifle. I'm not a big fan of Bubba-ing up a military rifle, so there-in lies my predicament. Does such a rifle exist, or do I have to basically make something custom?

yes, but half of tradeex's mausers are commercial huskies, which is fine, except that they can't be fed with stripper clips. And the other half are swede 96s in 6.5x55.
