Was perusing the Trade Ex site a couple of days ago and saw an interesting Mauser, so I decided to pick it up.

This is my first Mauser, I have a Husqvarna 1600K that uses a Mauser action, but...

So this is what I got; Swedish 1896 Mauser with a 1943 dated Husqvarna action with the SM Sikte AGJ ram rear sight.

All I have right now is the photo from Tradex Ex as the rifle isn't supposed to be here until Monday, to say I'm excited would be an understatement.

Thanks Tinman204!

It's an interesting rifle in that, from what I've been able to gather, they weren't built for military service.

I got the following information from gunscollecting.com, I've paraphrased.

Their were only about 18,000 built for a civilian group called "Frivilliga skytterorelsen" or "Shooters Association of Volunteers" who agreed that if there was a total military mobilization, they would have to resell them to the state.

Those Swede rifles are like eating popcorn or potatoe chips, there is no way you will be able to stop at only one.Guaranteed.Enjoy that rifle!

If it's from Tradex, you will be VERY satisfied with your purchase. I got my "good condition" ex FSA Swede from them a few years ago, and it was more like "excellent" condition. Never had a bad deal from those guys, and I have bought many firearms from them in the past....

I bought my Husqvarna 1600 from them last year, the condition of the rifle was better than their description.

Dealing with Anthony is very easy.

All military pattern rifles were built for military use. Maybe not front line, but if it has target sights, it was sold for use as a marksmanship trainer. Sweden was neutral in WWII, but their neighbours on all sides were fighting external or internal enemies.

Very nice, I've been eyeing those for a while. My only Mauser is an early 40's K98 but it doesn't wear the original barrel or stock anymore. Still has a big ol' swastika under the front scope mount though.

Question-do all Swedish Mausers have tight .264-5 bores?

I have really good NOE mold droping .269 boolits(I use them for Carcano).

I wonder how hard it would be to find big bored, long ,infantry model Swede.

Thanks folks, looking forward to getting it in my hands and giving it a good look over.

I have Friday off, so I'll load up some rounds and hopefully get out to the range to see how it shoot.

This is not necessarily true.
