Hey guys interested in everyone's opionins on the Maverick 88 12g 28' barrel shotgun 3". I've read lots of reviews and it seems like a good gun and is from Mossburg, does anyone own one? As well is it a worth while gun to get to play around shoot some skeet and lend to friends for some fun on the farm? Thanks for your time guys

Greetings

I had one worked flawless ,did have to add a limb saver to compensate for the light synthetic stock
when shooting 3 inch slugs
I sold it had regretted it , so much so that i just bought another one
Great firearm nothing fancy no bells and whistles but reliable and well made.
Cheers

Well that's great to hear, I went ahead and purchased it literally 10 mins ago now I await it's arrival as I bought it online. Hoping the reviews were legit as they all seemed to be great. Thanks for your input!

I have hunted with 3 fellows over the years that had them and two of the fellows ended up with their guns having bulged barrels within 150 rounds of steel. The third ended up replacing his after about five seasons of really hard use waterfowling. They are alright probably for someone that hunts a few times a year and shoots a few birds but if youre waterfowling lots and doing lots of shooting in a group situation I don't think they will stand he test of time. Just my observations.

Have one. Love it. A simple, no frills do-it-all pump action shotgun. Over 1000 rounds down the tube, not a problem yet. You won't be disappointed, I feel its the best bang for the buck in shotguns.

My buddy has one and the damn thing goes bang all day. Reliable, well made, no frills boom stick. You could spend more and do way worse.

Izzit

I have one ( a used one in good condition, but I have yet to fire a single round yet just due to time constraints. ) Lots of people chiming in about having hundreds and thousands of rounds through theirs. How many people shoot steel in theirs and if you do how much per year or total do you think you have shot in the maverick barrels? How do they shoot using steel and the supplied modified choke?
Thanks
