Maverick 88 misfiring

I have an older maverick 88 , have very few shots through it but seems to not want to fire the first round in the pipe. Pulled the trigger it just clicked chambered a new round and it fired fine. It has a single pump arm if that helps. I stripped it and fully cleaned the internals, still had the factory grease in it. Firing pin moves freely could the old grease have been sticking in the c thanksolder weather? Thanks

Grease or oil will stick up everything in cold weather, best to keep clean and very lightly oiled

thanks that was what i was thinking too. it fired fine in the summer , must use a fairly heavy oil from the factory. makes sense coming out of Texas i guess
