So i ordered a pistol grip for my mav but i cant get the factory stock off. Once the end pad is off, i try to turn the screw and regardless which way i try and turn it, it wont thread in or out, it just spins. Any ideas or am i going to have to cut it off?

Turn the screw counter-clockwise to remove it. It's just a normal bolt.

I changed mine out with zero problems.

Truly odd mine came right apart counter clockwise
but the spinning with no result is odd
Stripped bolt or defective thread?
Try applying pressure pulling on stock attempting to engage the next thread
however you may need a new bolt if you are successful.
Good luck

Its a flat head screw and the head isnt stripped. the screwdriver is reaching the screw. Ive tried putting pressure on the stock as i turned the screw but still nothing happened. ill keep trying though

So i totally disassembled the gun so it was just the shell and the stock. I whacked the stock off the ground a few times and it started to twist. I continued to spin it until it stopped unscrewing and then i used the screw driver to take it completely out. The bolt threads back into the hole fine, doesnt slip or anything so i dont know why it wouldnt come out. Now i just need to get the specs for a bolt to mount my pistol grip.
