If it is the factory choke tube, you're good to go. This will apply fro Maverick 88's bought from 2002 on at least, as that is when I got mine. Before that, I cannot comment.

The only way to know which choke will pattern best in your gun, is to try different chokes in your gun, with the load that you intend to use. In some cases IC is best, in some cases LM, in some cases Mod. And to further confuse things, some waterfowl chokes are rated for steel, and the ratings for steel are different than the ratings for lead.
