We've gotten the first round of these for the new year a little early -- the Maverick HS12 Thunder Ranch is the product of an ongoing partnership between Mossberg and Thunder Ranch to develop accessible defensive firearms for civilian shooters in all areas, in accordance with the Thunder Ranch philosophy of affordable and high quality firearms instruction for self-defense and marksmanship. The HS12 provides shooters who are familiar with the over/under design (or limited to it by circumstance or law) with an updated, modern take on the design. Extractor.

I had the long barreled version of this shotgun. They are made for Mossberg by Kahn Arms in Turkey.
 
I have handled both the regular hs-12 and the long barrelled version, with extractors. I was hoping that with this being a special edition, that it might have ejectors. If you are really going to use an O/U in a tactical application, ejectors and the faster reload would be the way to go.
