Maverick hunter O/U

Great! I won't be eating tea and crumpets whilst handling the gun with my pinky in the air ;) (like some of the posters here)

Maybe not. But you would be the first one to ##### when your "Cheap" O/U goes South after only a short while. After all cheap is cheap.

When you have been in this game for a while you learn after buying inferior products that your best off to buy something decent and save yourself some grief in the long run.

Wrong there. I know that anything that goes wrong with a firearm is usually my fault 95% of the time. I bungee cord the thing on my atv rack and wash them out with a garden hose (My Benelli Nova anyways). That's why I like cheap guns. I know about quality, my toolbox is full of Snap-on tools.

FWIW I have "Been in the game" a long time. I got my first single shot when I was 12.

I was looking for a O/U in 12 gauge recently and I would have loved to get a Beretta at approximately $3,000. In fact, I would have loved to get a Purdey O/U that I saw advertised for $55,000. Fact is, they were both outside my budget. Instead I got a Score O/U for $500 inclusive of tax and shipping. I don’t know what to look for to tell me that this was a bad buy, but to me ignorance is bliss: the gun has nice wood, looks nice, handles well and shoots great and the main thing is, I have the gun and enjoy shooting it. If it stops shooting due to inferior quality in 5 years time, hell, I think I will buy another Score!

I've owned a 20ga Nova. For a pump gun in its class the Nova is not cheap by that standard and very well made indeed....and it will withstand even that kind of "unorthodox" treatment.

An O/U on the other hand, regardless of build quality, won't survive the garden hose type of prescription :D.

He does have "Snap-On tools to fix it with.
