If you love your Maverick 88, show some love! I put an ATI heat shield and a Limbsaver rec

oil pad on this one. Great value and reliable as hell!

Got one that has +3000rnds through her. Never had a single stoppage/ftf, nothing (that was not an ammo issue). I've had mine ghost ring'ed, tri rail foregrip installed on a 500 tube, couple stocks, saddle scope mount.. and the accessories cost more than the gun. I take it to the gun club on skeet//clays day and make the "old timers" cringe when I keep up with 18" of chokeless power. haha. (I do bring my proper gun, but like to stir the pot sometimes).

The Mav88 is definatly a under rated powerhouse in the shadows.

They are great guns for the money. I use mine for grouse hunting. Its a beater so I can crash and bang in the woods with it and not worry about it all.

I've gotten mud, water, blood... little I haven't gotten on it.

Not one FTE/FTF... more reliable then my M37! :/

Haven't had one problem with it.

I really dislike the OC (fine for grouse but useless for geese imo)

My Maverick is the most reliable gun in my collection and the only one that has never failed to go boom when I pull the trigger. Because of this my friends prefer the Mav to the own scatterguns and are looking to buy it. For $220 bucks there is no better deal in shotguns. All I added was a Limbsaver pad and she's good to go.

I read this thread and all I hear are stories of functioning shotguns. There's no way ANY other shotgun could out perform the old 870. You guys are liars. Go buy a real shotgun...

Did I get you?? I too run a Maverick88 and have had zero issues. Its nice to find a reasonably priced firearm that works.

Had one, and loved it, but sold it after I sold the 18.5" barrel a few months before, as at the time the Fuds at the local club convinced me that I needed a longer barrel. (Which was BS).

Overall I found it to be a very reliable shotgun, and had zero issues with it, other then the fact the stock was 3/4" to long for me...which I could have easily fixed by cutting it down myself.

And the fore end was abit loose feeling, but minor stuff really.

I wish I had kept it, as it was a darn good shotgun for the money IMHO.

I gots one too! It came with a 18.5" bbl and a 28"bbl with a modified choke.
I bought mine a few years ago shortly after I got my pal in the mail. I had originally bought it for bear deffence when I was out and about it the bush, living near Quesnel BC at the time. Now I live in the prairies and the maverick doesn't leave the gun cabinet very often any more. I have been wanting to try busting some clays with it this year tho.
