I have just run into the exact same problem with my rem 700 sps varmint 22-250.The only difference is,the fire formed case from my rifle,I neck sized and de-primed,but drilled and tapped the primer hole to fit a 4'' long bolt (I think it was a 10-24,but that doesn't matter right now),I then took a 50gr v-max bullet and seated it finger tight ,(the bolt is not threaded in the case just yet), I then chamber the finger tight seated bullet in my neck sized brass,close bolt ,open bolt carefully and measure c.o.a.l. thread the bolt in the primer hole to push the bullet out further ,remove threaded bolt and repeat the chambering steps 5-6 times to get a c.o.a.l. that is jammed,then I reduce my c.o.a.l. .003'' - .005'' for a lil jump.
I have been shooting this load for two years and two weeks ago I encountered the stuck bullet in the barrel from not firing the round(coyote dissappeared) when I lifted my bolt and pulled it back ,brass and powder is all that came out and bullet stuck in the chamber,,decided to re-measure my c.o.a.l. WITH THE SAME BRASS AND SAME ORIGINAL BULLET from original load development and now my c.o.a.l. is now .016 less.
I can't figure out what happened,I have now seated my bullet's .016 deeper so they are not jamming anymore and once again a lil jump.But I also thought my chamber was shrinking,thought mabe it was dirty from fouling or copper but it looks clean.
