Ive talked to a few guys loading 9mm, and they say they are loading to get get the longest OAL possible, so that they just fit in the mag and they will cycle properly. They feel they get better accuracy.

So Im wondering, is theyre an actual maximum OAL, and are theyre many others loading this long?

OAL really needs to deal with the grooves and lands as well. Sure they can be loaded long, but when the firearm goes into battery, is the head jammed against the lands? If so, you'll get a nasty pressure spike as the bullet has no space to start moving in (bullet jump). I've even seen them loaded so long that the firearm won't go into battery unless you bang on the back of the slide.. NOT a good plan...

This information is often in the front of the reloading manuals,, you know, the part we never read... :)

This thread from another forum addresses the issue, but falls by the wayside at the end.. http://www.glocktalk.com/forums/showthread.php?p=11150622
