Hi guys

Im trying to sight in the 1917 Lee Enfeild "sporter". The problem is my scope is maxed out and I'm shooting way low at 60 yards. Like 2 feet from bull  On the positive side its grouping good lol. Ive got the To-1 base, every thing looks like it would be mounted right.:sniper::slap: Is there somthing im missing??

You need to insert a shim below the front of the base on the receiver ring in order to raise the POI.You need enough shim to get on target with the x hairs being centered in the scope so that you still have some internal adjustment.A cheap fix is to cut shims from a pop or beer can and then keep adding thickness until you are on target.I'm thinking you might need .004-.006 of shim, but only trial fitting/shooting will tell.Bore sighting and use of a collimeter will cut down on your trips to the range.Once done use the proper type of Locktite to secure the mount screws.

another option is to get a set of burriss zee rings, in either 1in or 30mm size. They come with regular and offset thickness inserts to adjust your POI.

The Weaver TO-1 base for Lee Enfield comes with a shim that must be used when mounting it on a No 1 mk III SMLE. Ensure the shim is there.
The same base is used without the shim on the No 4 Mk 1 Lee Enfield BTW......gonecountry is correct, you need to shim the rear of the base to raise the POI, purple, I'm afraid you have it backwards......

You are correct sir! Pls excuse the brain fart.Yes,you must shim the rear of the base in order to raise the POI. You are OK doing this on the Weaver TO1 as it is a 1 piece base. Not a good idea on a 2 piece base as it will introduce undue stress/distortion on the scope tube. Another good shim material is old film negative-does'nt compress, does'nt corrode, and you can cut and stack them easily.
