Had the Rem 700 VLS in 7mm-08 out yesterday, and the Rem 722 in 6 BR. 162 gr Hornady Vmax and 168 gr Nosler Match bullets. Over 4064 and RL15 powders in the 7mm 08.

107 gr Sierra in the BR over some surplus powder I have. Still trying to get smaller groups, best I've managed in the 7mm-08 is just over 3/4 inch. The BR will do 1/2 groups easy enough, but based on the last one I had I think it can do better.

I'll try some 4350 in the 7mm-08 (same bullets) next week. Seating depth is fussy in this rifle, chamber is short for these long bullets.

VLS in 7-08 is neat, is the twist rate sufficient for those long bullets?
1-9.25, works up to 175 gr, so far. Not fast, but I've taken a couple of moose with them (in a shorter barreled 7mm-08, so even slower than this one). I like the VLS 700's, hmm, 17 Rem, 6mm Rem, 260, and 7mm-08. Putting together another 220 Swift in a VLS stock as well. - dan

I very much like the VLS model as I had one in the 6mm Rem. I kind of wish I still had that one as it would make for a better choice taking out coyote instead of my 223 in another make and model rifle I have now.

Nice. I love the 6BR. I had mine out last week trying some budget bullets and old powder to look for a cheap practice round.

With 105 Berger HT and Varget, my 6BR has hit 16” steel over and over at 1000m.

With crap Speer 90 Spitzer SP and old discontinued powder, not so much. lol!
