Hey guys,

I got a not bad price on a set of Magpul MBUS sights which were the PTS version, (after having trouble finding a real set in FDE.) I figured they would be fine for my SR 10/22 however I have the front post out about as high as it will go and still striking high. (Windage is fine) I am assuming that the PTS front post is actually different hight then the actual Magpul version for use on airsoft rifles??? Anyone know if this is the case for sure??? I'm wondering if picking up a real MBUS front post will solve the problem?

I don't know how many times I've learned the same lesson, try to save a small amount of money and it costs you more in the long run.

Thanks for any info

Take of side profile pic of your set up and post it up, it'll give a better description of what your dealing with.

yeah sorry guys I should have also advised that I have a full Dlask quad rail. So the front site is mounted on the Dlask rail..... same as several other guys on here that I have seen with Dlask rails and the mbus sites.

I had another look at the front site. The problem is not the post. I screwed it out all the way and there are lots of threads. The problem is the little spring loaded locker at the front of the post will not come out far enough to lock the post at the hight I need it, It is just shy of where I need it. If I can find a spring slightly longer I'll be good to go. Or I may need to take the locker out and put a small nut on the post threads.

That's airsoft gear for you. Not quite right but you do get a good set now and then. But by the time you've spent the cash to get it you could have bought a real steel set for your self.

Post a picture of the sight so we can see the spring you are looking at , as for the PTS stuff I really dont see any issues with it . Its not the real stuff but if you look at the CTR stock for example .....what locks the stock to the position on the buffer tube ? A metal pin and that is the part that takes the brunt of the recoil , I have shoot well over 1000 rounds with a PTS stock mounted on an AR15 and have not seen any more wear on the PTS than the Real Deal on the my AR15,. Look at an AFG ? really the only difference is made from a slightly different plastic and dosent have loc-tite on the mounting screws and thats a bout it .

Yeah I would not put any PTS stuff on my service rifle but some of it is fine for a .22 plinker. Other than the post locker the sight is actually pretty well made. They mount up solid and flip nice with no play. I would prefer them to be same plane for my use. But I think I can solve the problem with a nut to lock it or a spacer under the spring. When I get home tomorrow I'll see if I can get a pic to work.
