As the title states McMillan or AI. I have an AI, still not too sure how I feel about it. It's a love hate but I think a lot of it is my rings are a little low.

Been debating moving to a McMillan however cheapest I can find in my set up is 1250 plus DBM. So $1750 give or take.

If it was you; disregarding my opinion tell me what you think!

I have a McMillan A5 on my T-wolf, and it's the best I've ever had. To me it's just something about that quality feel stock in my hands. The weight seems more ballenced, and the finish is unbelievable. Give it a knock on the far end of the stock, and you can feel every vibration to the tip of the barrel, like it was one piece all together. And not to forget the weight! Yea, that may be a turn off to some, but to me it means no matter how many rounds I shoot, it's not going to jump around. No tacky feeling, fully adjustable, and ###y to the touch!

They say it's the little things that matter, but there ain't nothing little about McMillan!

$1750 opens a lot of doors! I would try to get behind a few stocks and feel the difference.

I prefer Manners over MacMillan, not in quality, just fit for my body and shooting style. KRG, XLR, Cadex chassis would be options as well. Just food for thought

I have no regrets on my McMillan A5. I love the fit, finish and overall quality. It's nice and heavy and I had extra weight added, since I never had any intention of shooting it in any position but a bench or prone. I fondled an AI chassis in a shop once. While I did like it, the plastic sides left a little for the "feeling" of quality (I know they are quite high quality). Before I build another, I am going to try to get my hands on an JAE chassis system. To me it seems like a nice mixture of A5 design with AI construction.

The JAE blows away any other stock for fit and finish I've seen. It is VERY impressive.

I own a Whiskey 3. Fit is great, but finish is plain other than the machining. I like things that way though. My buddy has an AI AX, and as mentioned, the plastic leaves a lot to be desired from me. I've shot a few Mcmillans. While the shape and heft has always felt good, the stock gel coat finish has never impressed me all that much. Another friend has a JAE. It sets the bar well above the rest.

Fit and finish definitely goes to the JAE by a large margin. Every piece is custom made, perfectly fitted, and amazing textures and details. Very, very nice stock.

Neither, I'd take a MilCun-built TS1 sniper stock any day of the week, twice on Sunday.

It seems they are asking $10775.00 for the complete TS1 rifle...... Way out to lunch if you ask me for what your getting, heck you could easily build two full out custom rigs for that much. I'll bet they would be asking some crazy amount like $2000.00 for the stock alone. I would say stick with the Macmillan A5's. I own 3 and all have been great.

The TS1 sniper package is the full meal deal, with all the bells and whistles and annual service package for $11k.

They offer the TS1 stock for $1250, made for them here in Canada by Ian Robertson (Robertson Composites)

Rem 700 action, MacLennan barrel, Leupold scope and Robertson stock are all good quality parts, but in no way are they worth the $10775.00 asking price as there are a lot better parts available for a build for less $$. I myself have never seen any of the TS1 on any range I have been to or know anybody that has one either. OP, Sorry as I didn't mean to change the topic of your thread.

Not to derail the thread / but even with the exchange rate I can import a GAP Precision rifle & have money left over for great optics & accessories !!

Lol TS1 looks like it came from Toy R Us. $10 grand!!! for a Rem clone!
I have both stocks and I like them both. With the AICS, I find that if you mount the scope a little higher, it's more comfortable to get behind.

The major difference is all factory-made stocks are thick, bulky, and heavy. The TS1 offers the versatility and comfort of a hunting stock - slim forestock and butt, light, and fully adjustable to the shooter. I've had HS Precsion, McMillan, etc. They don't come close to the portability and ease of use as this stock does. For me being comfortable in any position is better than just a good bench gun. As far a price, you're getting a taylor-made custom stock. Suck it up!

Opinions on stocks are like A$$&^$#S, everybody has one. For me it's the Macmillan as they just fit me well, your options may vary. In the end, you gotta pic which one works best for you.
