Hi guys, I’m thinking of getting MCRS Tactical to build a wooden tactical stock for my heavy barrel browning a-bolt chambered in 7mm RUM. Does anyone have either of their stocks and could shed a little insight. I’m thinking of getting the tactical T7 http://www.mcrstactical.com/WoodTac-7.html. Any info would certainly be appreciated.

Cheers,
Malcolm

I can't say anything about that stock Bwd, I got one of the F Class from them,,, laminated Red Cherry wood with outter edges in white birds eye maple,,, fairly pricey but what a beautiful place of work it is.

I like wood since it has some weight to it and black iron stands out so true...

Like the old guy said,,, what's not to like about a well built wood stock...

I had him do a wood stock with a few mods we talked about. He took the existing stock and added my requests and got it right. There were a few minor problems which were dealt with and I was sent an absolutely beautiful stock. I’m planning to do it again. The price and work was excellent. He did this on a nula stock and I’ll be back for sure when my nula action comes in

Can't speak for his wood, but his fiberglass copy (rip off) of the McMillan A5 is the worst I have ever seen.

Sorry I'm late to the party - Would you be able to expand on what made the stock subpar? I'm intrested to hear, I did some research and heard of issues back in 2015 or so but not many complaints since.

His composite stocks seem like direct ripoffs of McM models. Doesn't even looked like he attempted to create his own designs. The T series are almost identical to the A5, and the police model seems to be a rip-off of the McHale stock.

Is that somehow a problem? Are they bad stocks?

I dont have first hand experience, but a friend got one of their fiberglass stocks and the fit and finish were sub-par. Which is odd, since I have looked at their wood and laminate and they are very nice.
