I'm sure this has come up but I havent seen enough content online to sway me toward or away from this upgrade. My varmint thumb hole cz455 will shoot consistant between 1/2" and 3/4" at 50yds. My cheekweld isnt exactly perfect for my scope height and I have to slightly float my cheek upward to get a proper sight picture. Ergonomically I would enjoy the upgrade but my question is whether or not my accuracy will get any better. 1/2 - 3/4 is pretty good for a cz but would an aluminum chassis give me potentially 1/4 - 1/2, or am I dreaming? Cheers

The MDT website claims "up to 21% increase in accuracy". The "up to" part is a loophole through which a large truck can drive through. It's certainly not a guarantee.

I don't know if a chassis will be sure to produce better results than what you have. Some of the equation depends on what you're using to support your rifle on the bench. If you shoot using a bipod, which is not often used in BR competition, the chassis is appropriate. If it's a rest and rear bag, the chassis design is less suitable. Furthermore, the most important part of the rifle contributing to accuracy is the barrel. None of the 455 barrels have a match chamber. CZ factory barrels are mass produced, and some will be better than others. These barrels have limits. A CZ 455 factory barrel that yields sub-MOA groups can be viewed as having done what they were designed to do and perhaps more. CZ USA views 2 MOA (1") at 50 yards as acceptable. Some CZ shooters report accuracy improvement when the action is pillared and glass bedded, which presumbably is not a procedure commonly done with a chassis-equipped CZ.

One of the most important factors in maximizing accuracy is to use the appropriate ammo. If you are currently getting .50 - .75" groups you're probably not using bulk ammo. What ammo are you using?

Thanks for the reply. I left a reply to an Mdt employee on a YouTube video on these chassis and he responded that he absolutely guaranteed an accuracy improvement. You're right though, the 'up to' statement isnt convincing. I'd like to see 'at least' used instead. I lot tested 9 or 10 different match types. Center X and SK rifle match shot the best. Most others shot great groups but always produced one flyer every group of 5... which boiled my blood ;)
I'm torn between a new lilja barrel with my current chassis or a new chassis with my stock barrel..

PM sent on my experience so far with the chassis upgrade. Now I only went out twice so far with it. No noticeable improvement (was having teh same result as you) but the ergo is better.

No regrets with the MDT LSS RF Gen 2 I got for my 457. Really like the adjustability I can get with this chassis. They didn't have them in stock at the time but wish I had the vertical grip. Did not see any drastic improvement on accuracy but ergonomic was worth it for me.

I just installed a Lilja 16.5" barrel I picked up from GBT. Factory headspace on my 16.5" MTR Match barrel is 0.045". CCI SV and SK Pistol Match rim thickness is a consistent 0.041". I shimmed the Lilja barrel for a Headspace of 0.042".

Ran a Teslong borescope down the Lilja barrel and what a work of art.... Shiny, smooth and no tool marks.

Heading up to the cabin this weekend to see what this barrel will do with this headspace using CCI SV, SK PM, SK S+ and SK FN Basic.

I’m really curious about your results with the new barrel. I’m getting just under 2 MOA@100 yds with ELEY Club in my stock Savage Mk2 FV-SR.

I’m doing just under 2 MOA with my stock Savage Mk2 at 100yds for 10 rnd groups. I put a cheap lace on cheek pad and slip on butt pad for a better cheek weld and eye relief. I have the same question you do about a chassis improving accuracy. I may sell this rifle if a custom barrel is the only way to improve accuracy significantly. $2700 for an Annie in a chassis may be a bit much for me in one bite.

Local club member here uses a CZ455 for NRL22 type shooting. He had it in a KRG Bravo for the first year, but a few months ago switched that out for a MDT ACC. He likes the ACC for sure, think he's glad he did the swap.

I don't think you should expect an accuracy increase. It's more about the ability to adjust the fit to a crazy degree, and balance and weight the gun for your taste.

I'll send you a PM with my results or start a new thread. Hopefully the winds are calm this weekend.
