MDT ESS Chassis - Wouldn't this rail be visible in your scope picture during use?
The field of view of the scope seems like it would be obstructed by the rail. May be you would not see it because of how the scope works. I like this Chassis, I may even get one sometime. So I got curious enough to ask those who know.
Thank you for any helpful answers.

I have 2 ESS chassis, one with the forward pic rail, one without. In the case of the upper photo, yeah, you'd see the rail in your scope but only when down around your minimum magnification (because the field of view gets so much bigger). I've always run mine with taller rings, mostly so that I could fit scope caps on the ocular of the scope, which you wouldn't be able to do in either of your 2 photos as the scope is sitting too low.

Mine is exactly like second picture, same handguard same scope (but 1/8'' higher for flip cap clearance)
Even at it's lowest mag (4.5), all good.

2nd pic must be a photo op, razors have crazy long eye reliefs I can't imagine using this setup comfortably prone or benched.

Yea, usually, I move the scopes rifles to rifle, and I don't really set eye relief since sometimes we move one scope on multiple rifles for photoshoots. But now that you're on to me, I will start to move them again!

Thank you Marty
This is exactly what I needed. I like to shoot offhand lots, and the lowest magnification on my scope is 4x.

If I could get your objective lens size & rail height, I would be much closer to figuring out what ring height I will need. I am looking at MDT Rings. I also have to find out the height of the scope base (rail) which i'm thinking of using.
I'm having dreams of Vudoos these days.

Thank you to everyone, the help is appreciated.
When you order the ESS Chassis, surely you get to pick the exact length & style forend you want?
It threw me when I saw them for sale separately, I could not imagine needing more than one per rifle, but people do change their minds about accessories.

On my rifle (Remington 700) I run an MDT 20 MOA base and 30MM Elites in Medium height (1.00) on a 6 - 24 X 50 PST Gen 1. Yes, you select the parts through here https://mdttac.com/ca_en/ess-chassis-system-custom.html or select the boxed version, which includes a fixed buttstock and 15" no rail forend. Here's another article on scope ring height as well.
