MDT-LSS chasis argument, help me settle it.

So me and another person were arguing about using recoil buffers and springs in a MDT LSS chassis for recoil reduction.I say you cant cause they would expressly say that on the website as a feature. He says the cuts on the inner part of the chassis allows room for said buffer. Who's wrong here? I could easily call and ask but I like taking firsthand experience into account also.

If you can use an ar style buffertube for the mercury doodad, can you use the enidine recoil buffer? Was invented for slugs and is awesome on shotties in 12g. Would be interesting.

But i expect accuracy would suffer if you could rig it. Maybe for high cal short range shooting?

Don't know anything about the enidine recoil buffer. The the Mercury that I have used is in a sealed tube. Has zero impact on accuracy. I would actually say it make the gun more accurate b/c of the reduction in recoil.

I have mercury recoil reducers in my 458wm and there's no difference in accuracy with or without them

As for the recoil spring and buffer on a bolt action seems pointless unless you could attach a weight between two springs in the tube. You'd be better off just filling the tube for added weight to reduce recoil. Would make for an awkward balance though

Better late than never.

Of course you can. I believe the newer are not Enidine brand but Crosshair and they're the same product. Looking at Mesa tactical can help to find them.

I installed one on my girlfriend 7600 with a Mesa adapter and it's great to reduce recoil. Added a Limbsaver to the Magpul CTR and it's very smooth to shoot.

Regarding precision it's not bad considering you'll use a collapsable buttstock anyway. Yes it allow a slight wobble that could diminish a precision rifle stability. But for hunting at 2-300m it's not relevant.

The LSS is designed to use either the Skeleton Carbine Stock (with buffer tube) or the Skeleton Rifle Stock. If you were running the skeleton carbine stock (or other AR stock with a buffer tube) you should be able to implement recoil reduction system much like you'd find in a weighted buffer in an AR, with no accuracy shifts. Like Ryan says though, there will almost certainly be some fitting required, however I think it is a good idea and should definitely be explored!
