We are now going into production with the Mossberg MVP LSS chassis. This chassis is a little different from the others, as it takes AR15 Magazines as compared to the AI style mags used in all our other chassis.

We expect to start shipping late January 2014.

Will you be constructing your own 30rd bolt action mags? ;)

You'd make the AR crowd happy if I understand the guidelines/laws on mags made for one rifle that happen to fit in another. :p

Please don't discourage him. :)

A Weatherby MkV action is a long action for typically magnum type cartridges and likely wouldn't be an attractive choice for someone looking at a LSS chassis. It just wouldn't make any sense to do so.

is it a sling swivel? or a rail part to attach the bipod?
Is there any provisions for adding an extension to move the bipod further forward?

I guess if it were a rail, you could attach another QD, rail segment if you wanted to.

That is what we believed as well at first, however many people ask for it and want it. Which is why we just completed the long action versions of the R700 and Savage LSS Chassis.

There is a sling swivel stud. This can be removed and a rail can be mounted, so theoretically you can do what you are suggesting.

Well, now you have definitely got my attention. Maybe there is hope I can turn my 300 Wby into an ultralight hunter....

Totally ballpark guess, what would the weight of the LSS chassis, with simple buttstock/grip/mag?

I made an extension to move the bipod out. Works fine.
