MDT LSS mag release extension mod?

Recently purchase a used Gen 1 LSS chassis for my R700 tactical from a CGN’er and love the chassis, but found the mag release a little short what with my big mitts and all.

I called MDT today and they unfortunately don’t sell a longer or wider drop in version of the mag release.

Has anyone else come up with or made a diy wider or longer mag release that would work with this system?

If you have access to a welder the latch is steel. You will have to grind off a bit of the nitriding but it can be done. Just a weld a piece of .125" flat bar shaped to your liking and you're done. If you don't have access to a welder any local fab shop should be able to knock it out in no time and probably won't charge you much.

EDIT: Id offer to do it for free for you, but my shop schedule is once a week if I'm lucky, too busy with shooting right now. Just ask my bumper for my truck which I haven't finished welding the last few pieces onto lol!
