Hello Gents!

Hopefully I'm not stiring up a hornets nest lol.

I'm in the market for a new Chassis for my savage 10 S/A.
I've narrowed it down to the TAC21 and the Cadex field tactical.

Can anyone weigh in on what one might be better accuracy wise
Or has first hand knowledge with both systems.

Price point the Cadex is about $200 more after taxes (once the tac21 is build with
A Prs,buffer tube and hand grip) with a 10% military discount from Cadex.

Any input would be great. Thanks gents!
Cheers!

I've got a dual strike for my 700 and an XLR carbon for my Savage 10, but if I could do it all over again, I'd get a Dual Strike for my Savage as well.

Looked at the Tac21, but getting to the bolt seemed like a minor inconvenience.

Not sure if the Field Strike has the roller bedding system, but that is what sort of sold me on the Cadex unit (Plus the folding stock has toolless adjustments, but that's the Dual no the Field).

I had a tac21 chassis. At first I liked it, but over time I started to dislike it.

The bolt is a little annoying to remove, and the barrel came loose a few times. The chassis also has a soft feel to it and can be scratched up a bit if you catch it with your finger nails.

I now have a cadex guardian lite, and I love the chassis. Folding, fully adjustable butt stock, and is well put together.

Cadex is definitely worth the extra coin.

All chassis's have roller bedding. The only ones that do not are the complete rifles, as the actions are not round bottomed.

Tac-21. Number 17 of the first ones offered.
XLR Evolution.
AICS.

I kept the Tac-21 until the start of this year and sold it to move to a HS3.

Of all of the ones above, I like the XLR the most.

I used the HS3 to compete in FTR last season. Worked fine, had a great time but a stock maker offered to make me a competition style stock so I am now selling the HS3.

The AICS with the Viper skins and the HS3 could pass for relatives at a party. Main difference is the folding mechanism on the AICS is more solid.

I've never had a Cadex and I doubt I ever will. 4 point roller "bedding" just isn't a real solution to any problem. If you really want 4 points of contact, place 4 washers under your action in your SPS stock and crank the action screws down really tight.

And to those that will get their feelings bent out of shape because of my position on the "rollers", go check what people that really know what's going on do with rifles they use or build.

Tonybuell is right, how often are you removing your bolt? I've heard many good things about MDT's chassis. I purchased a LSS-XL for my Savage 11, it should be in the mail soon! Can't wait!

I removed my bolt after every use. I store bolt outside of rifle in its own cut out in my pelican case.

I have an MDT LSS, and Cadex Dual Strike,

I have seen the HS3, and it feels... cheap... to me at least.

Cadex for the win in my opinion.
