Measureing powder ?

What is the correct method to measure out a powder load ? Do you pour it gently, pour and tap/settle it , or any little tricks ?

I have been pouring it gently into the measurer and then to the quickloader and just had a thought that there might be another method.

I pour it into the measure and do not settle it. I figure tapping the meassure would not give a consistent measure. I'd do what you are doing. It's worked for me.

sounds ok...........just use a proper measure to get correct ammount , when you find your BEST load fer yer rifle /smoothbore, then make a deer or moose antleer or cow horn powder measure set fer that ammount, i mean if yer wanting a ols style look, if yer shooting a modern in line, i will pray fer your soul, hahaqha.
