Shot this today outside hole .380"-bullet dia. 257"=.123"?All I know is the gun likes it!!!!!!!!!!!!!Harold

A trick if you have a digital caliper is to zero it around a bullet and then just measure outside-to-outside the holes.

Unfortunately it doesn't like Hornady 100grainers or Patitions as well[still 1" groups]These are my standbys in all other calibers. These .257 Sierras blow through deer broadside and if found are the classic 60-70 % intact mushroom. In the .270 Sierras behave like grenades and I won't use them in that.I have some 100gr Speers [Hot Cor ] I may try but not this year. It'll be a protein tour this year due to expensive tags and gas.First seen first shot..................Harold

Now you tell me! Could have used this idea 20 years ago....

I don't want to take away from what is clearly a nice group but there is no way that that is 0.123". With a .257" bullet, the centre point of all 3 holes would lie within the circumference of the first hole. You can clearly see that one hole is almost standing by itself, meaning its centre is almost .257" away from the adjacent hole's centre.

Oh well nobody's perfect and I'm not going to the Olympics ,just hunting.PS this is a sporter not a target rifle...........................Harold

An easier way to measure the group is just put your caliper over the widest edge of the group. Then take the caliper and start closing it in, watching the dial move back exactly .257. That's all there is to it.
