What do you use to measure runout? Im looking at the RCBS DTI (dial gauge) setup. I think this will be useful in providing a little more info regarding the quality of my rounds or their deficiencies.

Are there any other similar setups available which would prove more useful?

Do you guys have your own setups? It appears that all one needs is a clock, small surface table and a suitably ground jig for holding various brass right? Sorry I'm rambling.

I just reload for fun but I like to improve. I would appreciate your thoughts.

Clock. AKA Dial Test Indicator or Dial Indicator.

Take a look at the runout gauges that are commercially available. You can make one in an afternoon, if you own a drill press and some basic hand tools that you probably want to own anyways.

Get a couple bearing balls from a bike shop, to set into the support blocks, to use as your rest points.

I have both the Forester and Sinclair units. Sinclair works better, however the Forester can be used to measure neck thickness et.al.
