meat grinder???

Cabela's - TorRey M-22R-1 1hp Commercial Grinder Item:UK-518700
$1,799.99

If I had a million dollars, I would have bought that instead of the Tasin, but I don't have a million, so use a cheaper grinder with my shooting earmuffs on.

I see Cabela's has the 1HP models on for $100 off right now. $399 is a great price for a great grinder. No worries about trimming the silver skin or grinding fresh with mine and you can't feed it as fast as it spits it out the other end.

Just go to cabelas dot com and follow the links to the grinders. That's the American site but they will ship one directly to you. They did me. I think it was about $44 shipping but that was a couple years ago.

ah. just the thread ive been looking for. im also looking for a grinder. i stumbled onto these guys.
http://www.yesgroup.ca/main_site/

they are located in north Toronto.
they sounded pretty knowledgeable when i spoke to them on the phone and they basically said they have all the models from the brands that are on their site and if they dont have it in stock they can get it in.

ive been looking at the LEM line but haven't decided yet.

a few tips i was told as what to look for if buying an electric grinder:
1- its good to have a reverse option if you need to unclog the knife or plates , etc'
2- make sure the plates sizes or common , that way you can fit additional plates in futures.
3- its nice if the grinder comes with sausage attachments if you are planning on making any in the future.

I bought one of the hand crank ones from walmart and within a day the face plate kept pushing off. I bought the Waring Pro that Outdoorwomen mentioned and am impressed. I did several big bags of ground and made my first few packs of sausages

I have a Waring Pro 450 Watt grinder from Costco for around $125 and it works fine.I used a $45 rival years ago and I fed it moose/elk and deer for 15 years till it blew up.You can put a pulley on the hand crank models and a motor. But my buddy had to put two pullies to slow it down as burger hit the wall 15 ft away like a shotgun!Hilarious.......Harold
