Shot this guy this morning. He`s not big(just under 200lbs)but should taste real fine.
My new Stevens 200 in .243 with a 100gr SP handload at 40 yds. We had just gotten out of the vehicle and saw the buck. He was just standing there looking at us. I only had time to load one cartridge, shoot(I never even saw him go down)and down he went, he never even twitched.:dancingbanana:
He may not be a record book trophy but he is to me.
He was shot in the Stead area in Manitoba.

DF:D

You know what?

From an (uneducated photo) critics point of view, that is a great picture. No blood, tongue in the mouth, decently framed. Nice.

And shot with a .243 :)

You can't eat the horns anyways DF, but that looks like a pretty good size hind quarter to me. Great picture, well done.

Check your glasses guys the tounge is out!!!! Great buck non the less he has good size and like Gitrdone says horns aren't that tasty!!!!!!!!!!!111

Just give it a tug, and cut it off, as for the blood, part of the game, want a photo of a clean deer go to a park :D ;)
I do like photos before dressing, very cool for the album, but a photo of those tenderloin coming out during dressing making my mouth water:D
And they should come out the day of the kill or you loose 1/3 of 'em through drying out and blood staining.

.243!? Can't be true! ;)

Nice work!
Since we're on the subject of tongues, a good trick to get hair off your meat is to cut the deer's tongue out and use it to wipe the hair off. Works well.

Hey DF did you see many deer up there I was hunting the Libau area for 5 days and seen one deer.Alot of sign though.I also heard a 7x7 and a 5x7 were
taken up in that area.Congrats on your deer.:)

Ok, so here we go again about the tongue is out or not out. For you people who need it explained and probably the reason that Fall Guy mentioned it, is as follows: Tongue in cheek (excuse the pun) has to do with giving the animal which you have "harvested" some form of dignity after death. That is the difference between making it look as though you "harvested" an animal, rather than "massacred" the ####ing thing. I know the end result is the same OK, the animal is dead. But how you portrait the event goes a long way to speak of your "sportsman" like conduct or lack thereof. Levi, you seem like a very respectable sort of fellow, so I don't buy the bull#### about going to a park to see a clean deer. Not all of us here are stupid, yes blood is involved, everyone knows that. There is more to keeping our hunting heritage that writting letters as is suggested when coming on to this forum. How about behaving like true "sportsmen and sportwomen" - in due respect to our female counterparts, and posting tastefully composed pictures. Not meaning to preach here, but could you wait for 1/60 of a second until AFTER the picture is taken to guzzle a beer, tuck the tongue in or cut it off, maybe try to clean up some of the blood. Some people have actually suggested how to do that. Think about some of the stuff that we've seen on this board lately, buddy falls out of tree stand, buddy shoots buddy, idiot shoots elk 8 times, hunter shoots woman in park. Sure makes hunters and gun owners look like the biggest bunch of morons, don't it. Jesus H. Christ , (sorry 'bout that Lord) can you imagine the "antis" festival after reading this all this #### and seeing these tasteless pictures. Anyhow, enough said, once again I don't mean to preach here, but maybe posting pictures in good taste and not busting someone's balls (or whatever ladies) over doing so may go a long ways to put us all in a better light.
