Hi: Anyone out there use any abrasive additives in theyr'e tumbling media ie. javex , borax.Just curious.My wife bought some white powder[RCBS?]that worked good but i have never seen it up here for sale. Any ideas? Thank's Dan

It's not an abrasive additive, but a cap full of NuFinish car polish works good as an additive.
I have used Lyman Turbo Brite Brass Polish. It is pretty cheap, 20 oz for $12.
Other things you can use are any soft/liquid polishes you find at an auto parts store. The key is that the additives have a fine abrasive in them.

Is your Flitz in liquid form? The stuff I have is a paste...
I also have (but yet to use) the Flitz Tumbler/Media Additive in liquid form.I bought mine at Cabelas in the USA ,not sure if Cabelas/SIR sells it.

I'm assuming the use of Brasso is more for cleaning? How much did you use, roughly say/cup of tumbling media? I thought if the Brasso cleans it up, I could always polish with media and the 'white packet' of RCBS stuff after. I'm using an RCBS Sidewinder and I could go to the chemical solution for cleaning the more stuborn cases. There's a lot of fiddling around with washing/rinsing and drying so I was wondering if the addition of brasso would be the ticket.
I use about a table spoon of Aluminum Mag Polish or Lyman Turbo Brite to my walnut media. The brass comes out glistening.
Just add another tblspn when it takes more than a couple of hours to get the brass polished.
The same amounts would be true for brasso and other metal polishing compounds I would imagine.

Thanks guys. I'll add a teaspoon or so of Brasso to the next batch of 'stuborn' stuff. I'm 'gleaming up' some recently acquired 7x61 S&H brass as we speak. Thanks again.
I use the Dillon liquid additive. It's blue. Of course.
Works very well. Brass comes out looking and feeling very nice. I put in a few capfuls when I replenish the media and that's it. Or maybe once every 10 or so tumblings in between.
When this bottle runs out, I think I'll just try a old liquid car wax though.

Just separated the 7x61 S&H brass from the walnut shell media with a touch of Brasso and they look like 'brand new pennies'. HOORAH!!
