two questions for you Laurence ...are tang sight/peep sights allowed in the Pistol Cal long range and...in the Buff rifle etc. long range you have numerous rifles listed , are they all shooting against each other or in separate class's (what I'm saying is do I bring a combination of all or just one for that class). I guess three questions, is wood fore-stock cut down considered "modified' (Lee Enfield) or does it have to be metal or trigger mods to disqualify.

Yes, tang sights can be used on Rifles in Pistol Caliber Long Range and yes, if you would like to shoot in all 5 different long range categories (for $20.00) you can. 5 categories, using the same targetry, winners in each category. All BAM (Bolt Action Military) Rifles are "As originally issued"(externally). Therefore the only Lee Enfield's using a shortened stock would be either the #5 Mk 1 Jungle carbine or an original EAL that was issued to the RCAF as a survival rifle. Bring lots of guns, with lead bullets! BAM matches are a regular side match at Winter Range that we are trying to make popular up here. Last match we had 11 competitors for long range, some shooting multiple categories.

PS: Yesterday we booked our hotel in Rocky Mountain House for the 24/25 June........................... now all I need is an application form!

From the feedback I have gotten, you are confused with the timings?

Friday Registration 1200-2000
Saturday Registration 0700-0830
Safety Meeting 0830-0845
First Round down range 0845 (5 stages)
Long Range 1345-1630
Sunday 0830 Safety Meeting
First round down range 0845 (5 stages)
Awards at approx. 1330-1400 latest

There is no stopping for lunch, by popular demand

Years ago another match director did 7 stages on the Saturday and it dragged out for so long that people rushed to get to the evening meal. This will be the same format for the 30 Sept/01 Oct Match in the Hat, except that we will shoot Wild Bunch instead of Long Range.
