I have held off posting anything until now because of the recent announcement that the construction shut-down of the Medicine Hat range has been moved ahead to the month of May. I found out today that the meeting with the contractor has clarified things to the point that the MHRRC President confirms that the May Long Weekend Cowboy Action Shoot can (and will) still proceed.
In other words: the Rocky Mountain Rangers No. 4 Troop "Shootout At Cactus Flats" is still on for May 19 & 20!
The construction work is only on the dirt backstops and berms of the main range, and thus doesn't affect the Cowboy Action Range directly. Further, the contractor has apparently confirmed that none of the work will take place on weekends, so there will be no concern about people working downrange from the Cowboy Action facility during the event.
Unfortunately, we are not sure how our camping space will be affected. We will do our best to accommodate as many units as possible, but you may wish to opt for a motel room or the like, if you have a choice.
