MHRRC Outlaw Wild Bunch match rules
No matter what
All firearm muzzles are to be pointed down range.
All Firearms are to be loaded under supervision of Loading Table Safety Officer
All Firearms are to be discharged under supervision of Safety Officer
All long guns will have the action open and empty when the shooter gives up control of them after shooting the required string.
All Firearms are to be unloaded under supervision of Unloading Table Safety Officer
All shooters and spectators will wear hearing and eye protection.
There are two classes, Outlaw and Traditional
Basically
Outlaw is the original Wild Bunch style from the Movie by Sam Peckinpah
Traditional is a Wild Bunch SASS class with lots of rules taking all the fun out of it
Outlaw Class
1x SA revolver 1x 1911 with 1 mag or1x 1911 with 2 mag
1 or 2 handed
1x Winchester M1897, Mod 12 or DBL shotgun
1x lever Action rifle carbine pistol caliber
This is not a SASS class
Traditional Class
1x 1911 with 2 mag .45ACP
1 handed
1x Winchester M1897 or Mod 12 shotgun
1x lever Action rifle carbine any caliber larger than .40
As per SASS rules
Now SASS rules allow the fired revolver to be reholstered but you must demonstrate to the RO that the Semi is unloaded and laid down on the deck with the action open. Failure to do so will incur a minor safety penalty.
All pistols will only be loaded with five (5) cartridges so learn to count. Today if you wish and I will be doing it, you may return both the fired revolver and semi auto to the holster after firing all five cartridges. Failure to do so will get you a stage DQ.
I will allow a shoulder holster of the M3 or M7 type as worn by Pike in the movie, however you are still expected to do the cross draw shuffle when drawing and reholstering the pistol, failure to do so will be a match DQ.
Penalties, Procedurals, misses are all 5 seconds.
Spirit of the cowboy law is in effect, turn into an ###### and you will be assigned an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty and asked to leave.
