Maybe this could be a place to honour our friends, who knows. For me right now, it's the place to honour my younger cousin and CGN member smoothbore75. He passed away on November 8, 2016 far too young. I can guarantee you that the sonofo##### died a happy man though. He was hunting for deer and elk with some cousins (that we didn't share) in Alberta. He had dropped a trophy buck (18 pointer from word of mouth), and had a massive heart attack minutes later as they were walking back to grab an ATV to pull it out, after gutting it.

Copperhead Road and Fishin' at Night will NEVER sound the same to me again.

Rest in Peace you magnificent bastard

The Hunting forum is certainly a proper place to mark the passing of our hunting buddies, especially when they die like that. (Most of us can think there are worse ways to go.)

Thanks all. I'll definitely remember him every hunt because I will always own a few guns I bought from him in the past. The .410 side by each and .280 Browning A-Bolt were always on the no-sell list. The .22 Magnum bolt action, and the 7.62 x 54 Mosin Nagant, just made that list as well. ####, half my blaze orange and my knives were gifts from him as well. You guys get it. He most definitely died a happy man, doing what he loved. The only thing that would have pissed him off was not getting to eat the "roast beast" or "critter" he just shot.

That sucks, especially close to Christmas.

I believe the mods let Memorial threads hang out for a week or so and then move them down to "The Memorial" forum.
