that pic was taken on our last shooting day with our full cap mags and the .303 bren gun in the dying days of freedom before the new laws took effect.
Silly me I sold that bren gun to a collector because I did not understand that I could keep it and register it prohib...... missing out on 12X grandfathering.
Still mad about that LOL I bought that bren for 850 bucks and at the time, surplus .303 ammo was cheap and reasonably plentiful. Was a gas to shoot and surprisingly accurate for what it was.

Somewhere in Canada some native Canadian is blasting away at some target with his VZ58 or CZ858 in a remote field. If anyone rolls up, he's just hunting deer. I envy this dude.

The VZ58 went prohib because that dickhead in Quebec killed a couple of Muslims with one. The 858 went prohib because the Czechs started shippping to us recievers that were already fully finished for full auto but had the inappropriate cuts filled back in. They were only supposed to use recievers that were not milled yet for a fun switch. As such alot of the rifles were converted full autos.

no idea why the importer couldnt see that? i could and warning bells went off when i first saw it back in 2005. iirc, it came off the same assemble line as full auto then welded, thats asking for trouble.

Both VZ and CZ are better rifles than the type 81. That's why not many people bought the type 81 when it came out. They were sitting like dead ducks going for $700 to 900 used while the VZ went for $1,200.

Lots of people like me were willing and still are willing to pay a premium to get the AK vibes the Type 81SA's provide.

true but now, reversal of fortune, VZ went to zero and T81 doubled, lol.

The vz58 was present at that crime, but it was not used to kill anyone. Only pistols were.
