I just picked up a used Meopta 4-16 and am wondering what to put it on and basically what it will handle. I decided to play safe and try it on a 264 win that has basically no recoil due to a long and heavy barrel.
That rifle has always had a big scope on it, so now we will see if it is more fun with a 4-16 on it instead of a fixed 20X. Never really thought about it before, but that 20 MOA rail puts a bore sighted zero at about 1 MOA from the bottom of the scopes adjustment. IT has two grid lines adjustment above the center line where it bottoms out, I think that would be an MOA or two. It is usually somewhere in there that the rifle is zero'd at 100 yds anyway, so it is at most 1 MOA to spare and that leaves me the rest to play with.
