So I saw at SHOT Show that Meopta released the Optika 6 line. The 1-6x has me intrigued, but I don't know anything about Meopta. Anyone have experience with them? how's the quality and durability? Daylight bright reticles? Glass quality etc. The Optika line is in the 500-900 dollar range, I think the 1-6 is around 500 on euro optic.

I've been thinking of pulling the trigger on a Steiner P4Xi but am wondering if I should wait until there's more info about the Optika 6 or not.

I've never used one, but they're supposed to be good. The MeoStar is their higher-end line, while the MeoPro is a step down. The Optika 6 looks like a tactical MeoPro with 6x mag range.

So it should be able to take some light abuse then? I know its in the more budget class so it won't be able to handle the abuse of something like the Vortex Razor but I know the Steiner was made for LE/Duty use so it should be able to hold up fairly well, and there haven't been any complaints about its durability despite its price. I'm hoping this one will be comparable in that regard.

They use to make scopes for Zeiss. They made the cabela instinct scopes as well.

Sorry I don't know too much about optics, how did the scopes they made for Zeiss hold up?

I inquired about Meopta last year because I had a trade opportunity for one. There is only 2 or 3 scope company in the world that manufacture their own lenses and Meopta is one of them. They make lenses for higher end scope and I think this should speak for itself.

i have two meopta scopes
one is over 12 yrs old and still as good as the day i bought it
i think its a 3-12x50 artemis
glass is perfect and had no issues with it ever
i bought another five years back and again no issues, does the job, worth the money

both of mine are on 233's,one BA one semi auto, both rifles for yote hunting in a sask winter fyi

Thanks, sounds like they have really good glass.

Can I ask what price range your meopta scopes are in? Are they budget optics in the 500-1000 range or were they more expensive offerings? If they are illuminated reticles are they daylight bright?

I am really hoping that despite the price these optics turn out to be good, it would be great to have something that can really compete with the Steiner.

I wish there was more info about Meopta but they don't seem to be as well known

the newer one i have was just over $500 from prairie gun traders sask around 5yrs back as i stuck it on my HKsl8
the older one is the illuminated reticule and it has adjustable brightness,i used it once and no likely.
this one i bought over 12yrs ago back when i lived in the UK.

i would buy another when i buy another rifle.
you need to check them out really, shame you didnt live closer to me lol

I have a couple, the zd 4_14x44, and a 7x56. Bloody awesome glass, nice illumination. The zd glass is as nice as my Schmidt Zenith.

My cousin has the meostar r1 3-12 ,he loves it.

I would buy another, and am looking forward to seeing the optika6 .

I have many Meopta scopes including the Meopta ZD 4-16X44, R2 and ZD 6-24x56 and they are as good and some may argue even better than Swarosvki.
