I have been wondering if anyone in Canada carries this optic? I have read some reviews but would like to know if any of you have used it. Any Pros, cons? I know this is an optic that gathers ambient light for its fiber optic red dot display and does not require batteries.

My original Tavor came with the Mepro21. It was an okay optic, but if you were in a shaded area, shooting into a brighter area, the dot got washed out & was very hard to see.

Check with CanadaAmmo maybe?

Cheers

Kimber distributes Mepro products so their Canadian distributor can likely order them in for you. FWIW the Trijicon reflex sights are pretty much the same thing and much easier to obtain in Canada.

There are a few versions of the M21. The best version is with the bullseye reticle (Eotech copy) with the quick release. The advantages are tritium light source for dark so no batteries or buttons and a decent light gatherer for daylight. It works well. Also it's an advantage for many of the firearms with side charging handles where the Eotech would get in the way. The Eotech is great for AR rifles but for some firearms, especially bullpups it gets in the way.

When the Tavor was shipping with them, you could pick one up every time the Tavor orders came in. It's not as popular as the Eotech and due to this it can often be picked up for a lot cheaper than the Eotech or the brand new price of the M21. In many cases it's a very good bargain. I have one on a non restricted Storm and right now an Armalite AR15 with Fab defence stock. It makes a nice pair for Israeli style with the Tavor.

The only real flaws with the M21 are the being in a dark shooting space and looking into a bright area along with the tritium light source eventually fading out. For some firearms it's a better choice than an Eotech. If you don't care about the 1 moa dot and 65 moa outer circle then a 3 moa red dot such as the Aimpoints is another excellent option.
