Mercury Recoil Reducer Tube

Does anyone know where a person can purchase a mercury reducer tube, which fits into the rear stock to a rifle? Thanks!
 
The tube sold by C&H works very well, IF IT'S INSTALLED PROPERLY.

They're quite easy to make, if you have access to mercury and some rigid tubing.

We used to put our home made unitis into the buttstocks of Lee Enfields and other rifles with two piece stocks.

They need to fit fairly snug all the way around and at both ends. If they're sloppy, they will eventually damage a stock.
 
I made a recoil reducer for a light 300Win Mag hunting rifle. I took it out for hunting,. but it made it easier to practice with.

I pour molten lead into one of those aluminum cigar tubes.

I drilled a similar sized hole in the butt, about 2" longer than the tube.

I dropped in the lead tube and then put a spring on top of it, between the tube and the butt plate. (A rubber sponge would have worked.)

Gun goes off. Rifle hits me. Then the lead hits me. Recoil was over a longer period and felt much less. Cost nothing.

This works well. Some folks just use a piece of steel with a spring. Six of one, half a dozen of another

Thanks for the tip, however, I'm a bit busy at this time with revenue properties and other things that require maintenance. I'll just dig into my pocket and order. Thanks again!
