Hey guys~the Christmas season wouldn't be complete without wishing all of you a Merry Christmas, and a safe/happy holiday season with your families. CGN is my online home-away-from home, and I enjoy dropping-in for a look at least once a day. As the years pass for old .22LRGUY...I find the same few things to be even MORE true than before;

1. Time in the field with family/friends trumps all else when I look back over the year. Life is precious, and unfortunately...too short for some. Get out with friends/family often...and tell them what they mean to you.
2. Time to hunt really needs to be put on a calendar or it simply won't happen. After 2015, no more "hunting when time allows" lol
3. I'm finding that a few better guns/scopes beats allot of lesser ones. "Better" doesn't necessarily mean the most expensive either.
4. I have no practical use for a 17M2, and no budget (currently) to buy one. Hasn't stopped me from looking. :) If Santa is reading this...a nice Cooper in 17M2 would be awfully nice. :) CZs are good...maybe even a Marlin..

Lastly, I'm curious to know what everybody's rimfire plans are for 2016. Me? Take 2-3 rifles out west to shoot gophers in early June. Looking good at this point. :) I had the Waltz re-sizing die cranking-out nasty hollow-point CCI Blazer for about 3 hours on the weekend. Discovered that Blazer is so waxy that I need to clean the die every 50 rounds...and with 5K rounds to get through~I have lots to do. :) None of that will make sense if you don't own a Waltz..

Purchase-wise...nothing but a 17M2 if the right rifle comes along at the right time $-wise. Need to source some 17gr. Hornady HMR ammo before the trip west. The heavy lifting will be done by the .22s, but I hope to bring at least 500 rounds of HMR with me too.

Anyhow, hope all of you have a great Christmas and happy, safe-shooting new year!

Back at you.
And may the wax continually be bothersome.

Hopefully 2016 finds me at a new address.
Preferably one with nayboors way yawnder.

Going to skinny up on shooters.
Too many dewn nadda and maybe someone else could
enjoy them more better.

The pile oh chit 'round here needs to come down an elevashu oar two.

Save sum brain cells fer old age...................aye?................:onCrack:

Yes merry x mas to you may santa bring you something gun related.I'm wanting to get out and shoot some rimfire as I was mainly hunting all fall and now that's over, unfortunatley winter has hit making it hard to get out with snow, cold and wind.2016 finds me with some new stuff I have purchased in the last few months but have been unable to get out.New to me CZ455 varmint with my sightron 6-24.I put a bushnell elite 4-16 AO on my 452 varmint which needs sighting in.I'm hoping 2016 brings me another 1/2" challange with the 455.
Best of luck SC

Kindly, and shared Christmas sentiment.

Santa doesn't have too much of a push for rimfire this year. Getting set up for reloading on the heavier 'irons I have floating around here. In the rimfire spirit, I'm mostly interested in making making gallery loads.

As with many past years, regarding "rimfire future"...I like to find old/oddball gems, so ever vigilant for those. The fates put a Marlin 50 in my hands this year...2016 may not be able to compete!

Merriest of Chrsitmas ya bunch 'o' nutz!

Just doing better with my CZ's (452 & 455) this year, probably won't add any new refiles this year but I continue to look..

A very Merry Christmas to all fellow shooters (It keeps you young) I hear so that's good enough for me..

Merry Christmas to you as well. I'd love to get a CZ .22LR bolt gun this year but it doesnt look like its in the cards for me. If you need some company on your June gopher trek west drop me a message.

My goals are to acquire a Uberti rolling block in 22 Lr and hmr. Also a snowy painted stainless 22 mag and a marlin 795 with straight sights

Our ####ty dollar hurts when you want to import guns

I plan to get out more for small game with my rimfires and hopefully 17 mach 2 ammo will become available at under $10/ box

Merry Christmas all.
My rim fire selection this winter will remain the same. Gonna drop my CZ 452 17HMR and snag up a youth model 22 repeater of some type for my boy. He figures he's past the old single shot. Haha. Probably refinish the stock on my dads Remington 525 that he passed down to my all those years ago. I actually refinished the stock in IA class in grade 9 about 25 years ago but it could use it again. Hard to believe that it's been that long or that when the IA teacher asked who wanted to refinish gun stocks almost the whole class showed up with one to do. Not nowadays.
Anyhow. Merry Christmas everybody

Merry Christmas!
Looking forwards to the spring and taking the kids target shooting with their CZ Scout. Two older boys are getting into competitive cross country skying; they are hoping to try biathlon eventually.

Merry Christmas everyone! And a Happy New Year.
I'm going to order a Boyds Pro Varmint stock for my CZ 455 Varmint. It has a TH stock now, but I prefer the PV for shooting from the bench. I think I'll pillar the stock and perhaps epoxy dot shim the action as discussed here http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/showthread.php?t=557079&highlight=bedding+compound and http://forum.snipershide.info/showthread.php?t=120169 (need to scroll down a bit). I'll admit that this method is appealing because fully epoxy bedding the action intimidates me. I epoxy dot shimmed my 452 American and it worked out very well.

Well, any xmas funds received will likely be going towards some desperately needed new water proof winter camo... (surplus works fine for summer and fall not so much winter) I may pick up a CZ455 Varmint in 17 hmr though... They have been calling...
