Hello everyone,

I have been using PMags in my AR 15, but I am curious about everyone's experiences with metal 30 round AR mags. I just like the idea of using metal mags. What are the ones that work well for everyone? Trying to stuff in 14 or so rounds is not a factor for me.

14-15 rds? I assume you are talking about the genuine AA Beuwolf metal mags?
The AA ones work extremely well. Advice, if you're running the Kydex mag carriers, you might want to put on some Magpuls or Ranger plates on them. They can be slippery to pull out in a hurry.

I use NHMTG (discontinued I hear) and OKAY 5/30 mags with Magpul L-Plates...love 'em. The other metal mags I use are AA Beo's (for more rounds) and the HK 5/30's (real and clones from Israel I believe).

PHat Eagle, thank you for the E-lander tip and link. I'll check that out.

OKAY mags were mentioned several times also I will like to check those ones also.

Is there a Canadian distributor for NHMTG mags?

I ordered some C-Products magazines several years ago from the US - before they went belly-up and restructured.

They're the stainless steel 5/30 mags and I've never had an issue with them. They fit and feed in both a Norinco and Colt lower.

I have P-mag, Hexmags, and metal E-lander.
All have worked flawless for me. The metal mags are a bit heavier but otherwise I'm partial to the hexmags :)

D&H are GTG. Sole supplier to the CF. The teflon coating the CF uses is practically impervious to wear unlike USGI.

MIL SPEC metal mags work the best. Been using them for 25yrs plus, except when the CAF used a polymer mag. I don't trust Polymer/plastic mags.

SSG69's have the worst mags out there. Polymer mags work very well. No need to not trust them in 2017. The formula for success is out there.
