Metford Rifling Vs Modern Ammo

Hello

I was looking to get some opinions regarding shooting modern 303 in a metford rifled barrel. Would it be ok for only a few rounds every once in a while or should the whole scenario be avoided at all costs.

Why not load up some 1900 spec 303 rounds?

They will work just fine.

I have a Martini with Metford rifling and another with Enfield rifling. They both shoot factory ammo and hand loads just fine.

Your Lee Metford rifle is strong enough for modern commercial 303 Brit ammo.

You might even find the fouling easier to clean with the rounded corners of Metford rifling.

Unfortunately, not set up reload right now, but that's the plan eventually
