I have a whole bunch of this ammo gathering dust, pulled some bullets 143gr, measured powder weight on 6 rounds, all within 2/10ths of a grain of each other. Inserted 150gr Hdy hunting bullets, starting point .035" from lands of my 10TR, just gotta wait for it to warm up a little before I try it out. Anyone made hunting ammo out of this stuff? Results? TIA.

EDIT: Disregard below. Thought you were talking about the spam can 7.62x39

It's funny stuff really.

I can easily manage a 10 round group inside of 3" at 100 yards, with a 3 MOA Red Dot (Burris FastFire 3) mounted on my WS-MCR. I mean, I really want to hate it because it's corrosive commie crap, but damn, my rig seems to really like it.

If I had the reloading kit, I'd give that a go as well.

I presume you are talking about 7.62x39? I use those bullets and the powder for .303 British plinking rounds. I see no reason you can't replace the fmj bullet with a similar weight sp bullet and use them for hunting. I've never been afraid to use corrosive primed ammo. Rifles that are 100+ years old are still humping along, and they've had a steady diet of corrosive.

A while back I pulled 300 copper washed apart and used the powder and projectile to make 303 British

I still have all the 762x39 primed cases. not sure what to do with them all.

I should have been more clear with my post, the ammo is 7.62x51. I bought it for a great price back when I had a Poly m305 which has since been sold and figured with the dearth of reloading components this could be a decent way to make hunting ammo for my 10TR.

Find some cast bullets of appropriate size, load a light plinking load. I'm not going to suggest a load, saves squabbling on here. I cast several different .30 cal bullets, so I am not usually stuck for something to use.

Took it out to the range today, a bit hot. the 150gr were clocking over 2800 and bolt lift seemed a tad sticky. The 165 case got stuck. Will pull the 165s and drop 2gr from the 150s and work up from there.

I did that. It shot not much better in terms of accuracy than the fmj. Never used it on a deer.
