Mexico Ducks..

I hunted south of Mazatlan, was good busy hunting for ducks and doves, same spot for both. They charged a reasonable rate then $1.50 a shell or something, came out of it with a pile of birds and shooting and a cheap bill. Don’t recall how much but less than $500 including all the driving if memory serves.

The outfitter had an interesting history, they used to guide Jaguar and Grizz hunts back in the day before they’d all but been shot out. The Grizz are extinct in Mexico now, a sad story. But wild being in palm trees and talking grizz hunts.

Wow your guide must have been 120 years old, there were dozens of Mexican grizzlies in the 1930s and they were protected by the 50s

Never let the truth get in the way of the facts right?

The jaded environmentalist who has “killed too much” brand isn’t nearly as entertaining as the “bush navigator who has shot everything with an iron sighted 375” one I have to say

Yes, I met three generations who guided Mexico in that family, the grandfather would have been in his late 80s a decade ago. No, I don’t take it as bull, the Mexican mountains had Grizz into the mid 1960s, and wildlife there was not viewed as we would here. I’m sorry the arc of my life seems to offend you.

There were less than 30 bears in Mexico in the mid 60s

The arc of your life means nothing to me; it’s the grandiose proclamations and arrogance that are annoying

You should add Mexico to your locations; bet you’ve been there more than Africa…

The ignore buttons right there, we can both use it

Well, I think just about anything is legal in Mexico with the right connections and enough US$.

I was offered a Marsh Deer Hunt in South America, AFAIK they have been totally "protected" for decades.

Rarer it is, harder it’s hunted, and the more it’s worth. Same model is visible in every hunting market.

Mexico in those times would have been much akin to the ‘Stans and sheep today. Rules were flexible, and rates were high. Bears were regarded as something to exterminate by the locals as well, think of Canada’s attitude in the early to mid 20th century with Grizz. Then take it Mexican.

But Conor’s discontent with me isn’t about bears in hot places.

Sadly no, it certainly would be cheaper and much easier. Have at er on the list if it makes your day better, don’t mind seeing what you to have to say. Some of it I appreciate less, but carry on it’s a free country.

As for Mexican wing shooting, I’d be happy to read what you have to say on that too.

No comment; I don’t do much international travel. I don’t own any Chrysler products or work for Canada Post though

Ended up doing a 3 day hunt the first week of February.

To say it was a wingshooting trip of a lifetime is an understatement.

Here are a few pix.

Looks like you had a terrific hunt... great way to break up the winter and bridge the time between fall and spring hunting.
