MFS 203 gr question

I have some of this ammo for my Mosins. I noticed that although it is soft point, it is metal jacketed about 2/3 the length of the projectile (I tried it with a magnet). My question is... Is this ammo legal for hunting big game? (I am in Newfoundland where it states that service ammunition or FMJ is illegal to hunt with). Also has anyone taken big game with it? If so, what were your results?

Because it has a softpoint it's not a FMJ so legal for hunting I believe as jacket material is not addressed in the regs. I have not hunted with it but I would not hesitate to try it in my M44, sounds like it might be a good round for Moose.
