MFS 7.62x39 experiences?

I'm having a little bit of trouble finding some 7.62x39 non-corrosive ammo in stock. Seems a few places are carrying MFS brand non-corrosive.
Should I grab it or is this brand troublesome? I've read a few different things but seems to be 50/50.
 
I recently bought like 1000 rounds of those MFS 7.62 x 39 SP 168 grain. My VZ 58 love those and accuracy is quite good, I got like 2 inch grouping with open sight at 50 yard.
 
I haven't shot a ton of it, maybe 100 rds of X39 and about the same for X54. Its been reliable as surplus and shot a little better. Its dirty compared to quality American commercial but noticeably cleaner than surplus. Its worth the extra price if the non-corrosive, extra accuracy and slightly cleaner powder mean much to you.
 
Like the poster above, I've shot around 100-120 of these. No complaints, I didn't find it really dirty. Can't comment on groupings, but it never failed, so it gets the thumbs up for me. Lever Arms has 1440 cases for 300, Chinese Surplus non-corrosive. Might be worth looking into, I know I am.

There is Chinese Non-Corrosive and Chinese "Non-Corrosive".. Guess which one Lever has.. I'll give you a hint: it's not Non-Corrosive. If they're still selling it as such, they're continuing to solidify the "reputation" that they gained on this forum.
 
MFS has been great in my Vz carbine - no feeding, extraction or ejection issues in just over 500 rounds. Decent accuracy, lots of flash, but very decent. It is 100 per cent NON-corrosive.
 
Did yours have stovepipes with the MFS softpoints?

I don't think it's the ammo, it's the SKS/858 platform itself that was just made to use FMJ's I think. I remember when I tried running brass cased S&B soft points through my 858 you couldn't even get one in the chamber, which is why I had to switch to MFS. I'm 220 rounds in with soft points and so far no issues

have tried the sellier and bellot in my 858 they were round nose and feed perfectly but those round are really loaded hot ^^ you see it on the primer sometime ^^ , but the MFS ammo i never try because i cant find them
 
I am not very impressed with it as I have found it to be dirtier and less accurate than the silver box non-corrosive Chinese ammo. Considering it was 310 bucks per 1000 rounds I am glad I only bought 2000 rounds. The Chinese that Canada Ammo was selling for 299/1200 rounds is quite superior to the MFS. I have only shot the FMJ 7.62x39mm loads, not the soft points so YMMV.
 
I believe MFS rounds are steel core bullets - so you do often get sparking, and they will most likely wear on your bore somewhat more then lead rounds.

....but - for inexpensive, non-corrosive ammo, they really seem to be a good way to go.

I believe they are very popular, even in the states as a x39 round.
 
I have fired hundreds of these through my SKS it is almost all i use
reasonably accurate not one FTF to date pretty clean and well priced
I would highly recommend it.
 
I have shot quite a bit of this stuff. It went kinda like this... BANG BANG BANG BANG BANG!!! Over & over & over!!!

The MFS stuff is good ammo, I like it!
