I have recently shot some MFS ammo through my SKS. One thing I noticed with it was stringing vertically, I don't think it was from how I was holding the rifle (benched). It has a fitted Chinese phenolic stock. It was a while but on a previous outing, I got a very good 100 yard group with the Czech surplus M43 ammo. I noticed the MFS ammo does not seem to have a firm crimp on the rounds like the Cz M43 ammo does. Anyone else have the same problem? I only tried 20 rounds of MFS for fun.

I wonder if I am not finished fitting the forend ferrule to the stock ie, take more off the front of the forend?

I have seen similar outcomes of MFS ammo. One batch of 7.62x54r ammo I purchased had varying neck sizes. I now stay away from MFS entirely.

MFS (Barnaul) did it with me with the bayo (on my '49) extended. Once the bayo was retracted, the groups turned into nice tight circles.
MFS is good stuff. It's all I use now.
