Hello

Looking for some help - Can anyone please give me some guidance on how to remove the pins on an MG34 bolt head that hold in the cartridge stripping device and trip lever?

PMs welcome.

Thanks,

Brookwood

a hammer and punch should work.

whats wrong with it?

The pin has a shoulder on it and can only be driven out one way. It seems totally intuitive, straight forward and simple enough, but they just do not want to budge with a punch, hammer and vice. The pins have not been disrupted or mushroomed on the head in a way that would prevent them from being removed. It is almost like they were shrunk before being pressed in.. I have experience with repair of complicated mechanical devices and this one has got me stumped. I'd appreciate if I could talk to someone who has done this before.

it will only come out in one direction. the ejector may be in the way of the punch a bit, but you should be able to drift out the pin with a large hammer.

trust me its just being stubborn..

Yes they come out with a punch. They were put in place then mushroomed on purpose or peened a bit. Try a smaller punch to allow the material to conform around it and still fit in the hole.
